US Cash Crude-US crude grades firm slightly as Libya's oil blockade widens
Aug 28 (Reuters) -U.S. crude grades edged higher on Wednesday as Libya's oil blockade widened, a move that could boost exports of WTI Midland by refiners that typically use Libyan light sweet crude.
WTI Midland WTC-WTM gained 5 cents and WTI at East Houston WTC-MEH, also known as MEH, gained 10 cents.
U.S. crude oil stocks fell by 846,000 barrels to 425.2 million barrels in the week ended Aug. 23, data from the Energy Information Administration showed, far less than analysts' expectations in a Reuters poll for a 2.3 million-barrel draw.
However, the relatively firm level of the Brent-Dubai spread is also expected hinder Asian demand for barrels from the West, which are priced against Brent.
* Light Louisiana Sweet WTC-LLS for October delivery gained 10 cents at a midpoint of a $2.20 premium and was seen bid and offered between a $2.00 and $2.40 a barrel premium to U.S. crude futures CLc1
* Mars Sour WTC-MRS gained 15 cents at a midpoint of a $1.35 discount and was seen bid and offered between a $1.55 and $1.15 a barrel discount to U.S. crude futures CLc1
* WTI Midland WTC-WTM gained 5 cents at a midpoint of a 75-cent premium and was seen bid and offered between a 60-cent and 90-cent a barrel premium to U.S. crude futures CLc1
* West Texas Sour WTC-WTS gained 5 cents at a midpoint of a 10-cent premium and was seen bid and offered between a discount of 20 cents and 40-cent a barrel premium to U.S. crude futures CLc1
* WTI at East Houston WTC-MEH, also known as MEH, traded between a $1.00 and $1.70 a barrel premium to U.S. crude futures CLc1
* ICE Brent October futures LCOc1 fell 90 cents to settle at $78.65 a barrel on Wednesday .
* WTI October crude CLc1 futures fell 19 cents and is currently trading at $74.33 a barrel on Wednesday .
* The Brent/WTI spread WTCLc1-LCOc1 widened 5 cents to minus $4.13, after hitting a high of minus $3.91 and a low of minus $4.13.
