US Cash Grains-Corn basis steady to lower at elevators, river, rail terminals
CHICAGO, Aug 2 (Reuters) -Spot basis bids for U.S. corn were steady to lower at elevators, processors, river and rail terminals around the U.S. Midwest on Friday afternoon as futures prices strengthened.
Soybeans basis bids were mixed at river terminals and steady at other grain handling facilities.
* Corn basis bids fell 5 cents at a processor in the Chicago area and at an elevator in Blair, Nebraska.
* Soybean basis bids rose 5 cents at a river terminal in Morris, Illinois.
* Soybean basis bids fell 3 cents at a different river terminal in Davenport, Iowa.
* Chicago Board of Trade soybeans and corn rose on the U.S. Department of Labor reporting a higher unemployment rate, a possible sign of a weakening economy, which tends to drive investors out of the equities market and into commodities, according to analysts.
