POLITICS
The Group of Seven (G7) major democracies meeting in Italy next week will discuss the risk of fragmentation in global trade after "very tough" tariffs imposed by the United States against China, Italian Economy Minister Giancarlo Giorgetti said.
ECONOMY
(*) Italian lawmakers approved measures on Tuesday to curb costly incentives for home renovations, but coalition party Forza Italia abstained saying the move would harm businesses and banks.
Bank of Italy releases March data on public finances, state borrowing and debt.

Italy's largest regional power utility on Tuesday raised its core and net profit forecast for the year, after posting a 70% higher first-quarter profit boosted by growth in hydro production.
FINCANTIERI FCT.MI
The newly-acquired Underwater Armament Systems (UAS) submarine business has a "very positive" outlook, the shipbuilder's chief executive Pierroberto Folgiero said on Tuesday.
GEOX GEO.MI
The Italian shoemaker cut its full-year sales growth outlook on Tuesday, citing inflationary pressures as it reported first-quarter revenue down 13.5% year on year at current exchange rates.
DOVALUE DOVA.MI
(*) Italy's biggest bad loan manager closed the first quarter with net revenues worth 86.4 million euros (-5.2% compared to Q1 2023) and collections dropped by 11.0% compared to Q1 2023 on a lower gross book value, but still at strong levels (€1 billion).
It confirmed the 2024 targets provided at the last Capital Markets Day, with a pipeline of potential contracts estimated at 38 billion euros within the next 18 months.
