Europe Distillates-Diesel refining slip further as US stocks rise
LONDON, July 17 (Reuters) -Northwest European diesel barge refining margins dropped about 50 cents to $17.88 a barrel on Wednesday, as U.S.inventories rose and buying activity slipped.
No barges traded in the Platts window despite a flurry of bidsand offer activity.
U.S. distillate stockpiles USOILD=ECI, which include diesel and heating oil, rose 3.5 million barrels last week to 128.1 million barrels, versus expectations for an800,000-barrel drop in a Reuters poll, Energy Information Administration data showed.
European diesel markets are looking bearish until September, when refinery maintenance season kicks in, Sparta Commodities analyst James Noel-Beswick said.
EU and UK July diesel and gasoil imports have reached 915,000 barrels per day so far, Kpler data showed, compared with 1.04 million bpd in June.
Production capacity of sustainable aviation fuel in the United States could jump 1,400% in 2024 if all announced capacity additions come online, the EIA said on Wednesday.
