UK Stocks-Factors to watch on August 1
Adds new items, updates futures
Aug 1 (Reuters) -Britain's FTSE 100 .FTSE index is seen opening higher on Thursday, with futures FFIc1 up 0.3%.
* SHELL: Shell SHEL.L reported a 19% quarter-on-quarter drop in profit to $6.3 billion, reflecting weaker refining margins and oil and gas trading, though still beat analysts' forecasts.
* BARCLAYS: Barclays BARC.L reported a lower-than-expected 9% fall in first-half pretax profit, as a strong performance from its investment bank compensated for declining income in its core UK businesses.
* LSEG: London Stock Exchange Group LSEG.L reported first-half income above analysts' consensus, and a rise in annual subscription value.
* ROLLS-ROYCE: Aerospace engineer Rolls-Royce RR.L said it would restart dividend payments when it reports 2024 results next year after it raised its outlook for operating profit and free cash flow.
* NEXT: British clothing retailer Next NXT.L raised its full-year profit outlook after reporting better-than-expected second quarter sales.
* BAE SYSTEMS: British defence company BAE Systems BAES.L upgraded its 2024 forecasts, boosted by strong operational performance and as it benefits from the acquisition of U.S. space-focused bolt-on Ball Aerospace.
* WIZZ AIR: Wizz Air WIZZ.L lowered its annual profit forecast after reporting a 44% drop in its first-quarter operating profit, below analyst expectations.
* SCHRODERS: British fund manager Schroders SDR.L missed profit forecasts and flagged pressure on its margins in half-year results.
* HALEON: Consumer healthcare firm Haleon HLN.L forecast high single-digit growth for its 2024 organic operating profit.
* ROBERT WALTERS: UK recruiter Robert Walters RWA.L reported a first-half loss, as candidates hesitated to switch job roles and companies took longer to fill vacancies amid macroeconomic and political uncertainties.
* HOUSE PRICE: British house prices in July were 2.1% higher than a year earlier.
