LONDON, Aug 23 (Reuters) -U.S. WTI Midland crude differentials held steady on Friday as a cargo traded in the Platts window, while Johan Sverdrup was offered below the previous day's levels.

PLATTS WINDOW

* Indications are free on board (FOB) unless marked as cost, insurance and freight (CIF) or delivered at place (DAP).

* WTI Midland: TotalEnergies bought a Sep. 23-27 cargo from Shell at dated Brent plus $2.90 CIF Rotterdam.

* The deal equated to around dated plus $1.96 on a FOB basis, according to Reuters calculations.

* On Thursday, Shell offered WTI Midland with similar Sept. 22-26 dates at dated Brent plus $2.95 CIF Rotterdam, without finding a buyer.

* WTI Midland: Unipec withdrew an offer for a Sep. 26-30 cargo at dated plus $2.95 CIF Rotterdam.

* Johan Sverdrup: Equinor offered two cargoes on a one-cancels-the-other basis, one with Sep. 20-22 dates at dated Brent minus $1 FOB Mongstad and the other with Sep. 12-14 dates at dated Brent minus $1.05 FOB Mongstad.

* On Thursday, Equinor had sold Sept. 11-13 to Vitol at dated Brent minus 95 cents FOB Mongstad.

* Johan Sverdrup is not one of the grades underpinning the dated Brent benchmark.

* WTI remained the cheapest grade underpinning the dated Brent benchmark on Friday.
