LONDON, July 22 (Reuters) -Aluminium prices fell to their lowest in almost four months on Monday as some bullish positions were scrapped and other base metal prices declined amid concerns about demand given a lack of fresh stimulus in top consumer China.

Three-month aluminium on the London Metal Exchange CMAL3 lost 1.8% to $2,308.50 per metric ton, its lowest since March 28, by 1409 GMT.

Prices for aluminium, used in the construction, transportation and packaging sectors, are down 17% since hitting their highest in almost two years in late May. The metal broke below the 200-day moving average for the first time since February.

"Metals prices continue to struggle, and it now seems, at least based on the deteriorating charts, that the highs for the year are now well behind us," said Marex consultant Edward Meir.

"Today's slide is notable as it comes despite an unexpected cut in interest rates by China's central bank, telling us just how immune the Chinese markets have become to measures that would usually trigger substantial up moves."

Metal markets were looking for signs that the Chinese government would take action to address the country's prolonged property slump, the biggest driver of industrial metals demand.

However, last week's key political meeting failed to lay out more policies to prop up demand for metals, said ING commodities analyst Ewa Manthey.

"Without further stimulus measures, there is little hope for a near-term recovery for the property and construction sector. We expect copper and other industrial metals prices to decline further in the near term to reflect a softer demand outlook in China," Manthey said.

Meanwhile, LME copper CMCU3 eased 1.4% to $9,183.50 a ton after touching $9,172, its weakest since April 3.

The metal is down 17% since reaching a record high on May 20, and this has revived some physical buying in China. The premium to import copper into China rose to $9 a ton on Friday, the highest since April 15.

Zinc CMZN3 was down 1.7% at $2,727.50, lead CMPB3 fell 1.5% to $2,095.50, tin CMSN3 dropped 3.6% to $29,835 and nickel CMNI3 slipped 0.9% to $16,105.
