Technical Analysis – USDNOK finds the tools to overrun 18-year peak
USDNOK appears to have gained confidence and is currently pushing above the 18-year high of 9.3036. The current up move seems to be maintained by the upward sloping Ichimoku lines and the distancing of the red Tenkan-sen line above the blue Kijun-sen one.
The short-term oscillators also suggest a pickup in positive momentum. The MACD, deep in the positive region, is barely below its red trigger line but looks to return above it, while the rising RSI has reclaimed the 70 level. Additionally, the steep gradient in the 20-day simple moving average (SMA) and its recent bullish crossovers of the 50- and 100-day SMAs is showing an improving picture.
In the event buyers’ efforts triumph and the day closes above the multi-year top of 9.3036, the pair may soar towards the 9.4332 resistance, which is the 123.6% Fibonacci extension of the down wave from 9.3036 to 8.7520. If the climb prevails, and the price surpasses this level, the 138.2% Fibo extension of 9.5155 could be next to draw traders’ focus.
Alternatively, if sellers retake control and steer back below the red Tenkan-sen line, initial obstruction could come from the swing lows of 9.1950 and 9.1724 - an area which also encompasses the rising 20-day SMA. Penetrating lower, the 9.0924 point - where the 100-day SMA and the blue Kijun-sen line overlap - and the nearby inside swing high of 9.0570 could limit further declines. Next, the 50-day SMA at 9.0345 and the Ichimoku cloud around the 9.0000 mark could apply the brakes.
Overall, a dominating bullish picture exists since the beginning of the year, and a close above the 9.3036 level could cement a bullish bias in the short-term.ताजातरीन समाचार
