Isaac becomes a Category 2 hurricane, US NHC says
Sept 28 (Reuters) -Hurricane Isaac intensified into a Category 2 hurricane as it continued to strengthen over the sub-tropical Atlantic, the U.S. National Hurricane Center said on Saturday.
Isaac was located about 785 miles (1,260 km) west of the Azores, with maximum sustained winds of 105 mph (165 kph), the Miami based forecaster said.
"Little change in strength is expected through mid-day, followed by gradual weakening through the remainder of the forecast period," the Miami-based forecaster added.
