UK Stocks-Factors to watch on Oct 10

Oct 10 (Reuters) -Britain's FTSE 100 .FTSE index is seen opening higher on Thursday, with futures FFIc1 up 0.2%.
* TRITAX EUROBOX: Brookfield Asset Management BAM.TO has agreed to buy Tritax EuroBox EBOX.L for 1.1 billion pounds ($1.44 billion), including debt, kicking off a possible takeover battle for the European logistics real estate firm.
* LIONTRUST ASSET MANAGEMENT: Britain's Liontrust Asset Management LIO.L reported a 4% drop in its third-quarter assets under management and advice (AuMA), hurt by weak investor sentiment ahead of the new government's maiden budget.
* HSBC: HSBC HSBA.L, 0005.HK CEO Georges Elhedery is weighing cost-cutting measures that could save up to $300 million by reducing top management layers, the Financial Times reported.
* GSK: Shares of GSK GSK.L are seen rising 5%, according to pre-market indications, after the British drugmaker agreed to pay up to $2.2 billion to settle lawsuits that claimed its discontinued heartburn drug Zantac caused cancer..
* OIL: Oil prices rose, underpinned by a spike in fuel demand as a major storm barreled into Florida and concerns about potential supply disruptions in the Middle East amid heightened tensions between Israel and major oil producer Iran.
* GOLD: Gold prices nudged higher, while traders await a key U.S. inflation data due later in the day to gauge the Federal Reserve's future monetary policy stance.
* METALS: Copper prices rose in London, rebounding from a two-week low hit in the previous session.
* EX-DIVS: Tesco TSCO.L, WPP WPP.L, Taylor Wimpey TW.L, Kingfisher KGF.L will trade without entitlement to its latest dividend pay-out on Thursday.
