UK Stocks-Factors to watch on Nov 28
Nov 28 (Reuters) -Britain's FTSE 100 .FTSE index is seen opening slightly higher on Thursday, with futures FFIc1 up 0.14%.
* DIRECT LINE: British insurer Direct Line Insurance on Wednesday rejected a takeover offer of 3.28 billion pounds ($4.16 billion) from bigger rival Aviva, saying it "substantially undervalued" the company
* UK CAR PRODUCTION: British car production experienced its eighth consecutive month of decline in October, as factories continued efforts to retool for making the next generation of zero-emission vehicles, according to industry data showed.
* UK HOUSE PRICES: Buying a new home in Britain became a little more affordable this year as average wages rose faster than house prices and mortgage costs, the country's largest mortgage lender said.
* UK ECONOMY: Business sentiment in Britain's services sector is falling at the fastest rate in two years, partly as a result of tax rises in finance minister Rachel Reeves' first budget on Oct. 30, the Confederation of British Industry said.
* OIL: Oil prices drifted lower after a surprise jump in U.S. gasoline inventories, with investors focusing on the OPEC+ meeting this weekend to discuss oil output policy.
* GOLD: Gold prices slipped as the U.S. dollar strengthened, while investors assessed a flurry of economic data showing stalled inflation progress, suggesting the Federal Reserve might tread cautiously on further interest rate cuts.
* METALS: Copper prices eased, weighed down by a firmer dollar and concerns over the potential U.S. tariffs on Chinese products that could hurt metals consumption.
* FTSE 100: The UK's FTSE 100 index edged higher on Wednesday as investors assessed the fallout of U.S. President-elect Donald Trump's tariff threats, while easing government bond yields supported interest rate-sensitive housing and real estate stocks.
