BLINKEN IN WARSAW

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken will meet with senior Polish government officials on Thursday to discuss support for Ukraine in its fight against Russia and deepening U.S. defense cooperation with Warsaw.



INTEL INVESTMENT

Next week, the government will send notification to the European Commission concerning state aid for the construction of the Intel plant near Wroclaw worth $4.6 billion, Rzeczpospolita reports.

CONSTITUTIONAL COURT

The lower house of the parliament or Sejm may suspend the election of new judges of the Constitutional Tribunal until the new law on the tribunal enters into force, or at least till the next summer, Dziennik Gazeta Prawna reports citing Sejm Speaker Szymon Hołownia.



GERMAN BORDER CONTROLS

Poland is organising a coalition of Germany's neighbours who are dissatisfied with the reintroduction of random border checks, Dziennik Gazeta Prawna reports.


MOTIONS FOR ASYLUM IN POLAND
Despite the buffer zone and the barrier at the border with Belarus, Poland received a record number of asylum applications this year. By the end of August, 10.7 thousand foreigners applied for asylum, Rzeczpospolita newspaper reported.
