OSLO, July 10 (Reuters) - Norway's annualcore inflation fell in June at a faster rate than expected, Statistics Norway data showed on Wednesday, weakening the crown currency.

Core inflation, which strips out changing energy prices and taxes, was up 3.4% year-on-year while analysts polled by Reuters had on average forecast 3.6%, and compared with a core inflation rate in May of 4.1%.

The central bank had projected inflation for core inflation to rise 3.6% in June.

Norway's currency, the crown, weakened to 11.50 against the euro by 0641 GMT from 11.47 ahead of the data release.

The news, while "good", was not enough on its own to change the Norwegian central bank's rate view, an analyst said.

Norges Bank last month kept interest rates at a 16-year high of 4.50% but pushed back its prediction for a rate cut to 2025 from September.

"Norges Bank would have to see more figures of the same kind, in order to change its plans for the key policy rate," Marius Gonsholt Hov, chief economist in Norway for Handelsbanken Capital Markets, said in a note.

On a month-to-month basis, core inflation was up 0.2% from May.
