XM recently sponsored the Lullaby project in cooperation with Sistema Cyprus and Carnegie Hall Weill Music Institute (WMI) as part of our ongoing efforts to help people in need across the globe.

The charity brought the Lullaby project to our attention and in particular Aurelia’s story. Aurelia had been told by doctors that she would not be able to have children. Despite this she became pregnant. But her joy was tempered by the diagnosis that she also had ovarian cancer.

Despite the risks involved she chose to continue her pregnancy.

Through Sistema Cyprus’ Aurelia created an original lullaby composed for her baby to remember the difficulties of her journey.

We are happy to report that Aurelia has given birth and is now having chemotherapy. XM have welcomed the new arrival with gifts for both mother and child and the promise to stand by their side during this period.

Since 2020, Sistema Cyprus has been one of the international partners of the Lullaby Project, through which pregnant women and young parents work alongside professional musicians to compose personal lullabies for their babies. The Lullaby Project supports maternal health, aids child development, and strengthens the bond between parent and child.
