US Cash Grains-Soy basis mostly steady to down as futures firm
CHICAGO, Sept 4 (Reuters) -Spot basis bids for soybeans in the U.S. Midwest were flat to lower on Wednesday as futures strengthened on dry weather in the Midwest threatening the oilseed crop.
* The spot soybean basis dropped by 10 cents a bushel at a processor in Decatur, Illinois, by 15 cents at another processor in Morristown, Illinois, and 5 cents at another in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
* The corn basis rose by 5 cents at a processor in Blair, Nebraska.
* Analysts assessed whether overly dry U.S. Midwest weatherwill dent earlier projections of bumper soybean yields in the upcoming harvest.
* More locations rolled their corn basis to the Chicago Board of Trade December CZ24 futures contract ahead of the Sept. 13 expiration of the CBOT September corn contract CU24.
* CBOT November soybeans SX24 were up 8-1/4 cents at $10.20-1/4 per bushel at midday, while December corn CZ24 was up 2-1/4 cents at $4.11-1/2.
