US Cash Grains-Corn, soy basis mostly steady-firm on light farmer sales
Nov 6 (Reuters) -Basis bids for corn and soybeans were mostly steady to firmer at processors and elevators around the U.S. Midwest on Wednesday as the harvest was nearly complete and buyers sought to entice some farmer sales before winter weather sets in, merchants said.
* Farmers have been selling some grain straight from the field this autumn while storing away the rest. With the harvest nearly complete, supplies locked away in storage bins will be more difficult to pry away from farmers, grain merchants said.
* Farmer sales were minimal on Wednesday as market participants were digesting the results of the U.S. election and gauging any impact on the market.
* A large corn processor in Decatur, Illinois, raised its spot bid by 5 cents a bushel on Wednesday. A port terminal in Toledo, Ohio, lifted its spot bid by 7 cents.
* The spot soybean basis rose by 10 cents a bushel at a Chicago elevator location.
* On the CBOT, December corn futures CZ24 finished 7-3/4 cents higher at $4.26-1/4 per bushel, while benchmark January soybeans SF25 were 2 cents higher at $10.03-3/4 per bushel at the close of trading. GRA/
