US Cash Grains-Corn basis bids rise at river terminals and elevators
CHICAGO, Sept 6 (Reuters) -Spot basis bids for corn were steady to higher at river terminals and elevators in the U.S. Midwest on Friday, according to spot checks. The basis was unchanged at processors.
* The corn basis rose by 3 cents at a river terminal in Morris, Illinois and by 5 cents at an elevator in Blair, Nebraska.
* The soy basis fell by 5 cents at a processor in Des Moines, Iowa and at another processor in Lafayette, Indiana.
* Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) most-active corn fell as commodity funds liquidated positions, traders said.
* The U.S. Department of Agriculture reported weekly U.S. corn export sales of 1,822,500 metric tons for 2024/25, compared to analysts' expectations for 700,000-1,400,000 metric tons.
* Most-active soybean futures Sv1 fell on expectations of large U.S. yields and profit taking following a rally earlier in the week, traders said.
* CBOT most-active December CZ24 corn settled down 4-1/2 cents to $4.06-1/4 per bushel.
* CBOT most-active November soybeans SX24 settled down 18-1/2 cents at $10.05 per bushel.
