US Cash Grains-Corn and soy basis bids steady to firmer
CHICAGO, July 11 (Reuters) -Spot basis bids for both corn and soybean were steady or gained strength around the U.S. Midwest on Thursday, supported by a slow pace of farmer offerings as Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) corn and soybean futures hovered near multi-year lows, dealers said.
* The corn basis strengthened by 6 cents at a processor in Decatur, Illinois and an ethanol plant in Annawan, Illinois.
* Both the corn and soy basis gained 4 cents at a Seneca, Illinois, elevator where grain is loaded onto barges for shipment on the Illinois River toward Gulf exporters.
* CBOT futures steadied on Thursday on position-squaring ahead of the U.S. Department of Agriculture's supply and demand reports, due to be released on Friday. GRA/
* The USDA report is expected by analysts to show higher production of corn than the previous month, but lower production of soybeans, according to a poll by Reuters.
