UK's Mitchells & Butlers rises after pegging annual results at top end of consensus
** Shares of Britain's Mitchells & Butlers MAB.L rise 5% at 279.5 pence, hitting its highest level since Sept. 2021
** Co leads the FTSE Mid 250 Index .FTMC
** The pub group says it expects annual results to be at the top end of consensus expectations
** Top-end of FY24 revenue consensus estimate is 2.65 billion pounds ($3.38 billion) and adjusted EBIT is 289.78 million pounds - LSEG data
** MAB posts adjusted operating profit of 164 million pounds, as compared to 100 million pounds a year ago; like-for-like sales up 5.3% over most recent four weeks
** "Outlook for earnings growth this year and next is strong, and not too demanding of low double-digit earnings multiple," Hargreaves Lansdown analysts say
** Up to last close, stock had risen ~3.2% on YTD basis
