UK Stocks-Factors to watch on May 15

May 15 -Britain's FTSE 100 .FTSE index is seen opening higher on Wednesday, with futures FFIc1 up 0.4%.
* LSEG: A consortium of London Stock Exchange Group's LSEG.L investorssold 1.6 billion pounds ($2.01 billion) worth of shares in the company, bookrunner Morgan Stanley said.
* IMPERIAL BRANDS: Cigarette maker Imperial Brands IMB.L reportedhigher first-half operating profit, thanks to increased sales of tobacco alternatives and higher prices.
* BURBERRY: Britain's Burberry BRBY.L reported a 34% drop in annual operating profit after it faced the challenge of repositioning its brand to take it more upmarket against a backdrop of slowing luxury demand.
* COMPASS GROUP: Compass Group CPG.L raised its 2024 profit forecast after reporting first-half profit slightly ahead of market view, as new businesses and higher pricing helped offset inflationary headwinds.
* RASPBERRY: Computing firm Raspberry Pi said it was considering an initial public offering on the London Stock Exchange, as it plans the next phase of its development.
* SENIOR: Senior Plc SNR.L said that its Group Finance Director Bindi Foyle will retire in 12 months.
* ANGLO AMERICAN: Australia's mining and energy union said it will seek urgent meetings with Anglo American AAL.L to discuss workers' job security after the miner announced plans to sell its five coal mines in Queensland.
* OIL: Oil pricesrose on expectations for higher demand as the U.S. dollar weakened and a report showed U.S. crude and gasoline inventories fell while the release of inflation data may point to a more supportive economic outlook.
* GOLD: Gold prices traded flat as investors looked forward to a critical U.S. inflation print that could offer clues on the Federal Reserve's interest rate cut trajectory.
