UK Stocks-Factors to watch on July 10
July 10 (Reuters) -Britain's FTSE 100 .FTSE index is seen opening higher on Wednesday, with futures FFIc1 up 0.29%.
* STANDARD CHARTERED:Standard Chartered Plc's STAN.L, crypto unit, Zodia Markets, is in talks to acquire billionaire hedge fund manager Alan Howard-backed Elwood Capital Management's OTC business, Bloomberg News reported on Tuesday.
* BOE:The Bank of England (BoE) said it would increase scrutiny of risks such as bulk purchase annuities, or insurers taking over company defined benefit pension schemes, a growth area in the sector.
* OIL:Oil prices rebounded on Wednesday following three days of declines after an industry report showed U.S. crude and fuel stockpiles fell last week, indicating steady demand, and the outlook for interest rate cuts improved.
* GOLD:Gold traded in a narrow price range on Wednesday as investors looked forward to a key U.S. inflation reading that could shed more light on the Federal Reserve's interest rates trajectory.
* METALS:London copper was flat on Wednesday ahead of China inflation data, with firmer U.S. dollar and demand uncertainty weighing on the market.
* London's FTSE 100 suffered its steepest fall in nearly a month on Tuesday as banking stocks and energy titan BP pulled down the index, while investors seemed unfazed by Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell's testimony before the U.S. Congress.
