Turkey - Factors To Watch on July 16
ANKARA, July 16 (Reuters) -Here are news, reports and events that may affect Turkish financial markets on Tuesday.
The lira TRYTOM=D3 was quoted at 33.0050-33.0600 against the U.S. dollar at 0418 GMT, after closing at 32.9895 on Monday.
The main BIST 100 share index .XU100 closed 0.37% higher at 11,064.85 points on Friday.
GLOBAL MARKETS
Asian shares fell on Tuesday as investors pondered the prospect of a Trump victory and what that would mean for China, while the dollar climbed for a second day even though dovish Fed comments fuelled bets of more U.S. rate cuts this year.
CABINET MEETING
President Tayyip Erdogan will chair a meeting of the cabinet of ministers in Ankara (1200 GMT).
TRADE MINISTER
Trade Minister Omer Bolat will attend a meeting of the G7 trade ministers in Italy.
PARLIAMENT
President Tayyip Erdogan's AK Party is expected to submit a draft tax bill to parliament to introduce a minimum corporate tax among others.
Main opposition CHP (1030 GMT) AND pro-Kurdish DEM Party (0945 GMT) will hold parliamentary group meetings.
BUDGET DATA TRBUD=ECI
The Treasury will announce budget data for June (0800 GMT).
SYRIA TALKS
Syria's President Bashar al-Assad said on Monday he would only meet Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan if the two countries could focus on the core issues of Ankara's support for "terrorism" and the pullout of Turkish forces from Syrian territory.
