STOXX stumbles as autos drag

STOXX STUMBLES AS AUTOS DRAG
Europe's STOXX 600 .STOXX is down 0.3%, dragged lower by autos .SXAP while travel and leisure .SXTP stocks provide somewhat of a buffer, one of just two sectors trading positively along with tech. .SX8P
The UK's FTSE 100 .FTSE initially underperformed the broader market, and was on track for its biggest daily drop in five weeks after data showed inflation fell by less than expected. It was last down 0.3% in line with the STOXX 600.
Carmakers are falling 1.7%, having earlier been as much as 2.4% lower.
In the UK, retailer Marks & Spencer MKS.L is soaring 9% after reporting profit up 56%, and Mitchells & Butlers MAB.L is rising 12.6% after saying it expects annual results at the top of estimates.
RS Group RS1R.L is the biggest faller of the index, off 5.8% after some weak full-year results.
