SEOUL, Oct 18 (Reuters) -Round-up of South Korean financial markets:


** South Korean shares traded flat on Friday, but were set to log a second weekly gain as the Dow Jones Industrial Average extended its streak to end the last session at another record high. The won strengthened, while the benchmark bond yield rose.

** The benchmark KOSPI .KS11 rose 0.69 points, or 0.03%, to 2,609.99 by 01:20 GMT. For the week, the index is up 0.2%.

** Among index heavyweights, chipmaker Samsung 005930.KS fell 0.17% and peer SK Hynix 000660.KS lost 2.60%. Battery maker LG Energy Solution 373220.KS slid 1.51%.

** Hyundai Motor 005380.KS added 1.06% and sister automaker Kia 000270.KS gained 1.16%, while search engine Naver 035420.KS and instant messenger Kakao 035720.KS climbed 0.97% and 3.08%, respectively.

** The Dow Jones Industrial Average advanced on Thursday to its fourth record close in the last five sessions, as stronger-than-expected September retail sales indicated a robust U.S. consumer and TSMC's upbeat forecast buoyed chipmakers' stocks.

** Of the total 932 traded issues, 365 shares advanced, while 487 declined.

** Foreigners were net sellers of shares worth 181.1 billion won on the main board on Friday.

** The won was quoted at 1,371.9 per U.S. dollar on the onshore settlement platform KRW=KFTC, 0.06% higher than its previous close at 1,372.7.

** In offshore trading, the won KRW= was quoted at 1,370.3 per dollar, down 0.0% on the day, while in non-deliverable forward trading its one-month contract KRW1MNDFOR= was quoted at 1,367.7.

** The KOSPI has fallen 1.71% so far this year, shedding 3.0% in the previous 30 trading sessions.

** The won has lost 6.1% against the dollar so far this year.

** In money and debt markets, December futures on three-year treasury bonds KTBc1 fell 0.02 point to 105.99.

** The most liquid three-year Korean treasury bond yield KR3YT=RR rose by 1.7 basis points to 2.905%, while the benchmark 10-year yield KR10YT=RR rose by 3.7 basis points to 3.052%.
