Semiconductor index at two-week low ahead of Nvidia results
** Shares of U.S. chipmakers slip ahead of closely watched results from industry leader Nvidia NVDA.O
** The Philadelphia Semiconductor Index .SOX falls 2.5% to its lowest since Aug. 14
** Nvidia NVDA.O loses 2.6% ahead of results after the bell on Wednesday, with expectations high for the industry heavyweight
** Memory chipmaker Micron Technology MU.O second-largest decliner on the index, down 4% after Mizuho cuts price target to $140 from $145
** Wolfspeed Inc WOLF.N biggest SOX index decliner, slumping nearly 15%
** Advanced Micro Devices AMD.O and Intel INTC.O that make chips for personal computers, servers and AI chips lose 2.9% and 2.4% respectively
** Networking chipmakers Broadcom AVGO.O and Marvel Technology MRVL.O slip 2.9% and 2.5% respectively, while smartphone chipmaker Qualcomm QCOM.O down 1.8%
** U.S.-listed shares of contract chipmaker Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing TSM.N down 1.5%, U.S. listing of Arm Holdings ARM.O falls over 5%
** The iShares Semiconductor ETF SOXX.O down 2.5% while the VanEck Semiconductor ETF SMH.O off 2.4%
** Chip stocks, led by Nvidia, have been key beneficiaries of market enthusiasm around artificial intelligence-linked shares this year
** The Philadelphia Semiconductor Index has added over 20% year-to-date, while the benchmark S&P 500 .SPX has gained about 17%
