** The stock is bucking the broader market trend, with the S&P 500 .SPX down 0.5% on the day
** Company is expected to report an increase in rev to $11.34 bln from $10.32 bln a yr ago, while it is expected to post adj. earnings of $1.98/shr vs 6c in the yr-ago period, according to LSEG data
** The company has only beaten or met analysts' earnings expectations in four the past eight reporting periods
** On Wed, HSBC raised its price target on TRV to $227 from $225, but earlier in the week TD Cowen cut its rating on the stock to "hold" from "buy" and cut its target price as well.
** Analyst recommendations include eight "strong buy" or "buy" ratings, 15 "hold" ratings and four "sell" or "strong sell" ratings, per LSEG data
** The median 12-mo price target for TRV is $226.00; the stock was last at $222.10
** TRV is up ~16% for the YTD while the Dow .DJI is up about 8% over that period
** TRV options imply a 4.7% swing for the shares, in either direction, by Fri; that is slightly higher than the stock's average reaction to earnings of 4%, over the last eight quarters, according to Trade Alert
