POLITICS

Italy will send a second SAMP/T air defence system to Ukraine, its foreign minister said in a radio interview on Monday, responding to Kyiv's pleas for greater help to fend off Russian missile attacks.


The U.S. Treasury Department's top international official will meet with Italian officials in Rome this week to discuss Russia's frozen assets ahead of the G7 leaders summit, and speak on developing country debt issues at a Vatican-led event, a Treasury spokesperson said on Monday.


Leaders of the Group of Seven (G7) major democracies "fully endorse and will stand behind the comprehensive" ceasefire and hostage release deal for the Gaza war outlined by U.S. President Joe Biden and call on Hamas to accept it, a statement said on Monday.


COMPANIES

The Italian gas grid operator has presented a binding cash offer worth 500-600 million euros ($545-654 million) for Edison EDNn.MI's three Italian natural gas storage facilities, the Corriere della Sera newspaper reported on Tuesday.

A Milan judge rejected the request by Vivendi VIV.PA to issue an order to produce documents regarding the transaction between TIM and KKR KKR.N and set the last hearing on Vivendi's appeal against the sale for Nov. 5, according to daily Il Sole 24 ore.

The energy group wants to leave the media business and is ready to consider other offers beyond the one it has received from right-wing parliamentarian Antonio Angelucci for its news agency AGI, Chairman Giuseppe Zafarana said in an interview with Il Sole 24 Ore published on Tuesday.

The US asset management company Vanguard has raised its stake to more than 8%, MF newspaper reported on Tuesday, citing documents from a shareholders' meeting.

Bernstein initiates coverage with a Market-Perform rating and a target price of 6.2 euros.

Citigroup added the insurance group's stock to its European Focus List and raised the target price to 28.7 euros from 23.36 euros.

Citigroup raised its recommendation from Neutral to Buy and cut the target price to 5.8 euros from 6.5 euros.


NEWLAT FOOD (NEW PRINCES) NWLF.MI

(*) The food company expects core earnings of 317 million euros ($345.72 million) in 2030 after buying Britain's Princes, it said on Tuesday.

The Serie A club and Massimiliano Allegri have decided to terminate the contract of the former coach at the end of the currents season by mutual agreement, Juventus said on Monday.


ENEL ENEI.MI

Moody's investors service has lifted the outlook for the credit rating of Italy's Enel to "stable" from "negative" thanks to the utility's positive financial performance in 2023 and in the first quarter of this year, Enel said on Monday.


STELLANTIS STLAM.MI

New car sales in Italy fell year-on-year by 6.6% in May, the transport ministry said on Monday. According to Reuters calculations, Stellantis' share of the Italian market fell to 30.3%, from 31.3% in April.


INTERPUMP ITPG.MI

The Italian high-pressure pump maker said on Monday it bought 100% of valve maker Alfa Valvole from U.S. based IDEX Corporation for 55 million euros.


TELECOMS

Italian telecommunications firm Open Fiber is nearing a preliminary deal to secure some 2 billion euros in extra funds from its lenders and shareholders following months of complex talks, three sources said on Monday.


DIARY

Rome, Brazilian Finance Minister Fernando Haddad starts visit to Italy and the Vatican (to June 5). On Tuesday he holds bilateral meeting with Spanish counterpart Carlos Cuerpo; followed by joint news conference (1530 GMT).

Rome, Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni chairs cabinet meeting (0900 GMT).

Melfi, Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares visits local car plant.
