Europe Distillates-Diesel refining margins gain in quiet session
LONDON, Aug 7 (Reuters) -Northwest European diesel barge refining margins rose by around 60 cents to $18.46 a barrel on Wednesday, regaining some of the previous session's losses, as buying activity remained muted and U.S. inventories rose.
No 10ppm diesel barges traded in the Platts window for a second consecutive session, despite a flurry of bid and offer discussions.
U.S. distillate stockpiles USOILD=ECI, which include diesel and heating oil, rose by 900,000 barrels last week to 127.8 million barrels, Energy Information Administration data showed. This rise was higher than the 200,000-barrel build predicted in a Reuters poll of analysts.
Total distillate product supplied, a proxy for demand, fell by 256,000 barrels per day (bpd) to 3.47 million bpd.
EU and UK diesel imports have reached 1.04 million barrels per day so far this month, up from 961,000 bpd in July, Kpler data showed.
