EssilorLuxottica jumps after it says Meta considering a stake
Fixes CEO surname in second bullet
** Ray-Ban maker EssilorLuxottica ESLX.PA shares jump 8% after its CEO says that Meta META.O told him aboutpotentially taking a stake
** The company's head Francesco Millerisaid on a call on Thursday that the owner of Facebook had informed him that it might take a stake in the company
** Stifel analyst Cedric Lecasble attributes the share move to the Meta comment, and Essilor saying that there would be no capital increase
** EssilorLuxottica management said Meta would need to "buy on the market"
** The co also reported results which J.P.Morgan says were "broadly in line", with Q2 sales up 5% yr/yr and margins improving to 18.8% from 18.3%, helped by pricing and efficiencies
** Shares head for their best one-day performance since March 2022, if gains hold
