Energy stocks boost Indian shares
** India's Nifty 50 .NSEI and Sensex .BSESN rise about 0.4% each, as energy index .NIFTYENR rises 1.7% on gains in oil marketing companies (OMCs), NTPC and Power Grid
** Brent crude oil futures dropped on the day amid concerns about demand in China, the world's largest crude importer O/R
** Drop in oil prices a positive for OMCs as it aids refining margins; Bharat Petroleum BPCL.NS, Indian Oil IOC.NS and Hindustan Petroleum HPCL.NS gain 2.3%-5.1%
** Gains on the Nifty 50 also aided by NTPC NTPC.NS, up 3.3%, which is extending post results rally
** Power Grid Corp PGRD.NS up 3.6% after Investec hiked rating on stock on positive sentiment around upcoming opportunities on the back of existing contracts
** IT .NIFTYIT and FMCG .NIFTYFMCG, down 0.2%-0.4%, remain under pressure on profit booking after high valuations in the past month, per analysts
