The Times

- Three British oil and gas companies, namely Jersey Oil and Gas JOG.L, Serica Energy SQZ.L and Neo Energy, have delayed a decision on a new development in the North Sea amid uncertainty over whether a potential UK Labour government would impose more punitive windfall taxes.

- Britain's biggest water utility Thames Water has resurrected plans for a giant 1.25 billion pounds ($1.60 billion) reservoir in Oxfordshire in an attempt to shore up supply in and around London.

- The European Central Bank is expected to cut interest rates for the first time in almost five years at its meeting on Thursday after a survey of private sector businesses showed activity expanded at the fastest pace in a year while inflation cooled.

- The small Irish takeaway chain Supermac's has won a court battle with McDonald's MCD.N over the use of the Big Mac trademark, paving the way for it to open outlets across Europe.

- John Wood, the boss of Harland & Wolff HARL.L has insisted the historic shipbuilder behind the Titanic will survive, despite mounting concerns over its future.


- British finance minister Jeremy Hunt has challenged Labour party Keir Starmer to explicitly rule out property tax increases if Labour wins office at the general election.

- Andrew Fisher, a long-serving Marks & Spencer MKS.L non-executive director, is quitting the retailer's board after being blindsided about the poaching of its new finance chief Alison Dolan from real-estate portal Rightmove RMV.L, another company he chairs.

- Britain's Reform UK party has pulled to within two points of the ruling Conservatives, according to the latest YouGov poll of the election campaign for Sky News.

- The Labour first minister of Wales Vaughan Gething has lost a vote of no confidence in the Welsh Parliament.
