- Investors push housebuilder Crest Nicholson CRST.L to agree Bellway BWY.L deal after rejecting a 667-million-pound ($845.82 million) offer.


- Blackstone BX.N has taken a step of paying directors at Hipgnosis Songs Fund SONG.L an extra 250,000 pounds in fees for the "increased workload" associated with getting the 1.2 billion pound sale of the music rights specialist over the line.



The Guardian

- Britain's largest manufacturers are expecting orders and output to increase dramatically in the second half of the year, even as a shortage of skilled workers is threatening the ability of some companies to do business, according to a survey of 320 companies by the trade body Make UK.


- British Sandwich and wrap manufacturer This has recalled one of its products after an E coli outbreak that has left 67 people in hospital and more than 200 in total seriously ill, saying it is a precaution.

- Mark Zuckerberg leads 18 million pound funding round in Paul McCartney-backed start-up Yoto, developing a screen-free audio player for children.


- Lingotto Investment Management, which was set up by Italy's industrialist Agnelli family, reported a 53.5 million pounds profit for the year ending December 2023, up significantly from 16.3 million pounds in the prior year.

- Venture capital firm Hambro Perks to be renamed Salica Investments following the death and resignation of its two co-founders, Rupert Hambro and Dominic Perks respectively.


- Rosebank Industries' founder, Simon Peckham, is in talks to raise more than 40 million pounds from investors ahead of a flotation on London's junior AIM market

- Conservative party member and leader of the House of Commons of UK, Penny Mordaunt issued a rallying call to beleaguered Tories that the election result is "not a foregone conclusion" – but conceded that her party is now very much "the underdog".
