Banca Monte Dei Paschi rises as lock-up period after Treasury's stake sale expires
** Shares in Italy's Banca Monte Dei Paschi BMPS.MI rise 6% after the lock-up period on the stake owned by the Italian government expires, following a 12.5% stake sale in March
** The bank becomes more exposed to external investors' interests as the Italian Treasury, which still owns 26.7% of its share capital, can now sell an additional stake, a Milan-based trader says
** Italian financial newspaper Il Sole 24 Ore writes that the Treasury could sell a 10-15% stake in two tranches as early as July
** Up to Tuesday's close, the shares were up 51.7% YTD
** The stock outperforms the Italian banks index .FTITLMS3010 which is up 2%
