UK Stocks-Factors to watch on Aug 15
Adds new items, updates futures
Aug 15 (Reuters) -Britain's FTSE 100 .FTSE index is seen opening higher on Thursday, with futures FFIc1 up 0.3%.
* ASTRAZENECA: AstraZenecaAZN.L said the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) hasgranted its blockbuster cancer drug Imfinzi a priority review for patients with limited-stage small cell lung cancer in the United States.
* ADMIRAL: British motor and home insurer AdmiralADML.L posted a forecast-beating 32%rise in pre-tax profit for the first half of the year, led by strong UK motor performance, and said it would pay a special dividend.
* UK ECONOMY: Britain's economy grew 0.6% in the second quarter of 2024, official figures showed.
* BP: Oil and gas producer BP Plc BP.L told federal regulators on Wednesday that it has reviewed confidential commissioning documents and does not believe Venture Global LNG needs more time to begin commercial production.
* WORKER'S PAY: Britain's train drivers union and the government have agreed on a pay proposal that could end a long-running industrial dispute and a series of strikes that have disrupted rail travel over the last two years.
* NATWEST: Texas has added Britain's NatWest NWG.L to a list of firms that "boycott" energy companies, potentially restricting the bank's business with public agencies, the comptroller said.
* OIL: Oil pricesrose, supported by optimism that potential U.S. interest rate cuts will boost economic activity and fuel consumption though concerns over slower global demand curbed gains.
* METALS: Most nonferrous metals prices rose, helped by hopes of an interest rate cut in the United States.
* EX-DIVS: HSBC HSBA.L, LSEG LSEG.L, Hiscox HSX.L, Hima HIK.L, Barlcays BARC.L, Haleon HLN.L and Entain ENT.L will trade without entitlement to their latest dividend pay-outs.
