Europe Distillates-Diesel refining margins steady as ARA stocks fall
LONDON, July 25 (Reuters) -Northwest European diesel barge refining margins were broadly steady at about $19.2 a barrel on Thursday, holding onto gains in the previous session, as inventories drew down on both sides of the Atlantic.
Belgomine sold two barges to Litasco during the Platts window.
Independently held diesel and gasoil stocks in storage in the Amsterdam-Rotterdam-Antwerp (ARA) refining and storage hub fell by 2.5% to 2.01 million metric tons in the week to Thursday, data from Dutch consultancy Insights Global showed.
U.S. distillate stockpiles, which include diesel and heating oil, fell last week by 2.8 million barrels to 125.3 million barrels, versus expectations for a 250,000 barrel build, EIA data showed.
Russia is not planning to ban diesel exports and the situation is stable, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak told reporters on Thursday. This came after the Kommersant daily reported on Wednesday that Moscow was considering a ban, citing several unnamed sources.
EU and UK July diesel and gasoil imports have reached 921,000 barrels per day so far, Kpler data showed, compared with 1.05 million bpd in June.
