CBOT Trends-Wheat seen steady, corn down 1-3 cents, soy down 14-16 cents
CHICAGO, Aug 13 (Reuters) -Following are U.S. expectations for the resumption of grain and soy complex trading at the Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) at 8:30 a.m. CDT (1330 GMT) on Tuesday.
WHEAT - Steady
* CBOT wheat Wv1 hovers near a 2020 low reached last month amid competition for global export business from cheaper Black Sea supplies.
* Egypt is negotiating large direct wheat purchases, traders said, after buying only 280,000 metric tons in a tender that sought up to 3.8 million tons on Monday.
* CBOT September soft red winter wheat WU24 was last up 1/4 cent at $5.37 per bushel. K.C. September hard red winter wheat KWU24 was last 1 cent higher at $5.49-1/4 per bushel, and MGEX September spring wheat MWEU24 was last up 2-1/2 cents at $5.94-3/4 per bushel.
CORN - Down 1 to 3 cents per bushel
* Most-active CBOT corn Cv1 hovers near a 2020 low reached on Monday.
* U.S. corn and soy yield estimates could rise further after the U.S. Department of Agriculture predicted record yields for both crops in a monthly report on Monday, analysts said.
* A weekly USDA report, issued after trading ended on Monday, kept good-excellent conditions ratings unchanged for corn and soy crops. Analysts expected slight declines.
* Weather has generally been favorable for crops, and rains this week should curb anxiety over the recent dryness in certain growing areas.
* Exporters sold 137,160 metric tons of U.S. corn to Mexico for 2024-25 delivery, USDA said in a daily reporting system.
* CBOT December corn CZ24 was last down 1-1/2 cents at $4.00 per bushel.
SOYBEANS - Down 14 to 16 cents
* Most-active CBOT soybeans Sv1 overnight fell to their lowest level since September 2020.
* The market is under pressure after USDA on Monday projected a record U.S. soy harvest and increased its outlook for 2024-25 ending stocks to 560 million bushels, up 62% from the previous year.
* Exporters sold 132,000 metric tons of soybeans to China for 2024-25 delivery, USDA said in a daily reporting system.
* CBOT November soybeans SX24 were last down 14-3/4 cents at $9.71-1/4 per bushel.
