Successful XM £8500 LSE Forex Demo Competition

On 27th February 2013, the official award ceremony of the LSE FX Demo Competition took place, which had been launched as a joint project by online foreign exchange broker XM and the London School of Economics and Political Science.

Representatives of the university’s Careers Department, together with LSE alumni XM company CEO Constantinos Cleanthous, Directors Ilias Mavrommatis and Pambos Panayiotou and Member of the Board and Non Executive Director Tasos Anastasiou, attended the ceremony and presented the awards to contest winners at the university premises in London.

The winners of the event:

1st Place – £7000 Mr. G.Long
2nd Place – £1000 Mr. R.Morgan
3rd Place – £500 Mr. L.Bowker

The £8500 LSE FX Demo Competition can be regarded as a landmark in the corporate history of XM as it clearly reflects the company’s sense of social responsibility of initiating young financial professionals to the investment business through projects launched with prestigious educational institutions.

This forex demo contest is the first significant step in the long-term cooperation between the two institutions, proving the engagement of XM as an official career patron of the London School of Economics and Political Science to offer future internship and career opportunities to university graduates who intend to embark in the financial business area.

The official event was followed by a several hour long open discussion between the university’s finance major students and XM official representatives about the most intriguing issues regarding the global financial markets and the current economic events worldwide. The competition has undoubtedly established a precedent for several upcoming projects of the two institutions, the newest of which has already been agreed on and is to be announced in the near future.
