Forward prices rebound on higher European rates, drop in water levels
Aug 27 (Reuters) -Nordic forward power prices rebounded on Tuesday following higher European energy rates and a slight reduction in water reserves in the hydropower-reliant region.
* Nordic front-quarter power contract ENOFBLQc1 rose 1.2 euros to 41.7 euros per megawatt hour (MWh)at 1014 GMT after hitting its lowest since late June in the previous session.
* Nordic front-year ENOFBLYc1 gained 0.65 euros to 42.1 euros. The contract touched its lowest since early August on Monday.
* An upward correction comes as the market might consider the previous day's losses as overdone, Energi Danmark said in a note.
* Dutch and British wholesale gas prices rose on geopolitical concerns and forecasts for lower temperatures, but strong storage inventories helped limit the upside. NG/EU
* Germany's Cal'25 TRDEBYc1, Europe's benchmark contract, rose 1.10 euro to 97.55 euros/MWh.
* Carbon front-year allowances CFI2Zc1 added 1.03 euro to 71.50 euros a tonne.
* Nordic water reserves available 15 days ahead PCAEC00 were seen at 5.11 terawatt hours (TWh) above normal, compared with 7.16 TWh above normal on Monday.
* "The weekend and early next week will be generally less active with near-normal conditions, but later in the next week increasing low-pressure activity could bring again wetter-than-normal conditions to the western parts of Norway," Georg Muller, a meteorologist at LSEG, said in a note.
* The Nordic power price for next-day physical delivery FXSYSAL=NPX, or system price, rose 6.14 euros to 8.01 euros per megawatt hour (MWh).
