US airlines heading for an earnings crash; can bailouts save them? - Stock Market News

US airlines will grab the earnings spotlight over the next week as they reveal the financial cost of the COVID-19 pandemic on their first quarter performance. Southwest Airlines will announce its results on Thursday before the market close, followed by American Airlines on Friday, also before the market close. United Airlines, which was due to release its earnings on Tuesday, has postponed its announcement to April 28. That has left the honours of being the first major carrier to post its virus
