STOXX at record high, real estate and utilities rise

STOXX AT RECORD HIGH, REAL ESTATE AND UTILITIES RISE

Europe's benchmark STOXX 600 .STOXX has hit a record intraday high in early trading, last up 0.3% at 525.94 points as hopes for substantial rate cuts from the Federal Reserve this year while the global economy holds up relatively well boost sentiment.

Real estate stocks .SX86P are rebounding 1.6% after dropping 1.8% on Thursday, while utilities .SXKP are also providing a lift, up 0.9%.

Tech .SX8P names are the worst off today, down 0.5% and retracing the previous session's gains of 2.2%.

French stocks are well represented among the top movers today, with Elis .ELIS.PA. up 4.3% at the top of the index after JPMorgan reinstated coverage with an overweight rating. The same story is behind Spie's SPIE.PA 3.1% upwards move. French telecom company Teleperformance .TEPRF.PA is rising 2.4%.

On the flipside, shares in Danish medical equipment maker .AMBUb.CO are down about 14%, as its third quarter results showed its endoscopy segment lags expectations. The next worst off is Frontline HF6.F, down 3.3% after Q2 results.
