Larger FX option strike expiries this week

Oct 7 (Reuters) -The cash hedging of soon-to-expire FX option strikes can add to any nearby support and resistance levels, whilst also having a magnetic effect on FX price action, and there are plenty on Monday and the rest of this week.

Stand out EUR/USD strikes in the current vicinity are on Monday between 1.0950-60 on 3.1 billion euros and 1.0990-1.1000 on 1.6 billion euros. 1.1000 strike expiries dominate the rest of this week, with 1 billion euros on Tuesday, 800 million on Wednesday and 2.9 billion euros at 1.1000 on Friday. Friday also includes 1.1040-50 strikes on 2.6 billion euros.

The biggest USD/CHF strikes after Monday's 0.8575s and 0.8625s are on Thursday at 0.8450 on $2.1 billion.

GBP/USD strike expiries on Monday are the largest this week so far, with 1.3000 on 325 million pounds, 1.3100 on 288 million pounds and 1.3200 on 223 million pounds. There are 684 million pounds expiring at 1.3300 on Tuesday, but they are unlikely to factor given the recent USD gains.

EUR/GBP strike expiries after Monday's 0.8395-0.8405 strikes on 795 million euros are on Wednesday at 0.8335 on 338 million euros and 0.8430-45 on 642 million euros.

The biggest AUD/USD strike expiries are on Tuesday at 0.6740 on A$600 million, 0.6800 on A$820 million and 0.6825 on A$505 million. Thursday at 0.6775 on A$1-billion and on Friday at 0.6765 on A$700 million, 0.6800 on A$1.1 billion and 0.6830 on A$742 million.

Stand out NZD/USD strike expiries are on Tuesday at 0.6180 on NZ$ 900million and Wednesday at 0.6050 on NZ$601 million and 0.6250 on NZ$816 million. AUD/NZD strikes are on Thursday at 1.0925 on A$1 billion and 1.1025 on A$1.2 billion.

USD/CAD strike expiries are Tuesday at 1.3520-25 on $1.6 billion and 1.3550-60 on $1 billion, Wednesday at 1.3535-50 on $1.3 billion, Thursday at 1.3595-1.3600 on $1.6 billion and 1.3650 on $1.5 billion, and on Friday at 1.3595-1.3600 on $1.6 billion.

The largest USD/JPY strikes within a 147.00-150.00 zone are on Tuesday at 150.00 on $1.2 billion, Wednesday at 147.00 on $1.9 billion and 147.35-50 on $1.2 billion and on Thursday at 149.00 on $591 million, 149.50 on $922 million and at 150.00 on $700 million. There's a huge A$ 1.2 billion 100.50 AUD/JPY strike expiry on Monday.
