US Cash Crude-Grades pull in different directions, refinery demand set to weaken
Oct 31 (Reuters) -U.S. crude grades were mixed on Thursday dealers said, as coastal grades fell while inland crudes made gains.
In refining news, U.S. independent oil refiner HF Sinclair DINO.N plans to operate its refineries at up to 84% of combined capacity of 716,480 barrels per day in the fourth quarter of 2024, the company said during a Thursday morning conference call to discuss third quarter results with analysts.
This comes after Phillips 66 PSX.N announced plans to operate its refineries in the low to mid-90% range in the fourth quarter, the company's chief financial officer, Kevin Mitchell said on Tuesday during a conference call with analysts.
On the supply side, U.S. crude stocks fell by 515,000 barrels to 425.5 million barrels in the week to Oct. 25, the Energy Information Administration (EIA) said on Wednesday, compared with analysts' expectations for a 2.3 million-barrel rise.
* Light Louisiana Sweet WTC-LLS for December delivery fell 30 cents to a midpoint of a $1.48 premium and was seen bid and offered between a $1 and $1.95 a barrel premium to U.S. crude futures CLc1.
* Mars Sour WTC-MRS fell 5 cents to a midpoint of a $1.20 discount and was seen bid and offered between a $1.30 and $1.10 a barrel discount to U.S. crude futures CLc1.
* WTI Midland WTC-WTM rose 5 cents at a midpoint of a 70 cent premium and was seen bid and offered between a 60-cent and 80-cent premium to U.S. crude futures CLc1.
* West Texas Sour WTC-WTS rose 8 cents at a midpoint of a 45-cent discount and was seen bid and offered between a discount of 60 cents and 30 cents to U.S. crude futures CLc1.
* WTI at East Houston WTC-MEH, also known as MEH, traded between a $1.05 and $1.25 a barrel premium to U.S. crude futures CLc1.
* ICE Brent December futures LCOc1 rose 61 cents to settle at $73.16 a barrel on Thursday.
* WTI December crude CLc1 futures rose 65 cents to settle at $69.26 a barrel on Thursday.
* The Brent/WTI spread WTCLc1-LCOc1 narrowed 16 cents to last trade at minus $3.78, after hitting a high of minus $3.66 and a low of minus $4.10.
