COPENHAGEN, Nov 8 (Reuters) -Neste NESTE.HE hastemporarily shut down its refinery in Rotterdam, the Netherlands due to a fire, it said on Friday, and lowered its full-year guidance for renewable products sales volumes.

Shares in the Finnish company were down 4% at 1537 GMT.

Neste said in a statement the fire at the refinery was extinguished and no persons were injured in the incident.

"Based on our initial assessment, the Rotterdam refinery production will be down for several weeks impacting the renewable diesel customer deliveries," the company said.

It said it due to the temporary closure now sawrenewable products' total sales volumes ataround 3.7 million tons, against previous guidance of 3.9 million.

The company still expects the 2024 average comparable sales margin for its renewable products to be between $360 and $480 per ton, it added.

Neste's current 1.4 million ton capacity for renewable products in Rotterdam is the largest in Europe, according to the company's website.

Neste said the incident had no effect on an ongoing $2 billion expansion of the refinery.
