PARIS, Aug 16 (Reuters) -The German electricity contract for Monday rose on Friday as wind supply and solar power were expected to fall.

The German baseload power contract for Monday delivery TRDEBD3 was at 111 euros ($122.02) per megawatt-hour (MWh) at 1150 GMT, up 12.4% from the price paid for Friday delivery, LSEG data showed.

The equivalent French contract was untraded. TRFRBD3

Residual load is expected to be higher over Saturday and Sunday compared to the previous week on all fundamentals, and is also expected to be up on Monday compared to Friday, LSEG analyst Marcus Eriksson said.

German wind power output is forecast to fall 1.6 gigawatt (GW) from Friday to 5.7 GW on Monday, while French output is expected to drop 610 megawatts (MW) to 1.9 GW, LSEG data showed.

German solar power supply is also forecast to dip, down 480 MW on Monday.

LSEG analysis showed wind power supply in Germany is forecast to rise to 11 then 16 GW on Tuesday and Wednesday respectively.

French nuclear availability fell one percentage point to 67% of available capacity as the Paluel 3 reactor went offline for an unplanned outage. POWER/FR

Operator EDF said the instrument system outside the nuclear zone had had a malfunction, adding the disconnection was carried out safely and in accordance with the operating procedures.

Teams were working to reconnect the reactor to the grid, it said.

Power consumption in Germany is forecast to fall 1.2 GW on Monday to 52.5 GW while demand in France is projected to fall 1.4 GW to 38.9 GW.

German 2025 baseload TRDEBYZ5 rose 0.3% to 99.50 euros per megawatt hour (MWh), while the equivalent French position TRFRBYZ5 gained 0.6% to 84.50 euros/MWh.

European CO2 allowances for December 2024 expiry CFI2Zc1 fell 0.4% to 71.79 euros a metric ton.
