JAKARTA, Sept 27 (Reuters) -Indonesia aims to develop 5 gigawatts of wind power capacity by 2030 under its new power supply plan, an energy ministry official said on Friday, a nearly 10-fold increase on the current plan.

It's also more than 30 times Indonesia's current wind power installed capacity of just 152.3 megawatts.

Indonesia's state utility firm Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) has been working on a revision to its decade-long power supply plan, known as the RUPTL, to reflect the government's more ambitious renewable energy targets.

Under the proposed new RUPTL covering a decade from 2025, Indonesia will build 5 gigawatt of wind power capacity by 2030, said energy ministry's senior official Eniya Listiani Dewi in a statement.

In comparison, the current 2021-2030 RUPTL is targeting 597 megawatt of wind power.

Indonesia currently has just 152.3 megawatt of wind power capacity installed.

The statement did not say when the new RUPTL document will be released. PLN has previously said it was awaiting approval from government ministries and that the new plan will call for a total of 30 gigawatt capacity of renewable power in the next decade.

Analysts have said the document is key to mobilise the $20 billion funding pledged by G7 countries, multilateral banks and private lenders under the Just Energy Transition Partnership.
