Forward rates rise on dry weather view
Nov 5 (Reuters) -Nordic forward power prices gained on Tuesday, buoyed by forecasts for dry weather in the hydropower-reliant region.
* The Nordic front-quarter baseload power contract ENOFBLQc1 rose 0.2 euros, or 0.4%, to 55.15 euros per megawatt hour (MWh), as of 1144 GMT.
* The Nordic front-year ENOFBLYc1 gained 0.25 euros, or 0.7%, to 38.75 euros per megawatt hour (MWh).
* Nordic water reserves available 15 days ahead PCAEC00 were seen at 8.16 terawatt hours (TWh) above normal compared with 10.64 terawatt hours (TWh) above normal on Monday.
* "It's a little bit drier forecast for the Nordics and also the German-Swiss price is extremely high during peak hours, said Ivan Fore Svegaarden, chief meteorologist, analyst and power trader at TradeWpower AS.
* "We also know that as soon as wind picks up in Germany and in Nordics simultaneously, prices will come down fast."
* Germany's Cal'25 TRDEBYc1, Europe's benchmark power contract, was up 0.61 euros at 87.56 euros per MWh.
* Dutch and British wholesale gas prices rose slightly on Tuesday morning on soft wind output and ahead of what is expected to be a tight U.S. presidential election. NG/EU
* In the European carbon market CFI2Zc1, the benchmark contract fell by 0.2 euros to 65.02 euros per metric ton.
* "Temperatures will be near or slightly below normal. Towards the week after next week, a slightly more active pattern is likely with higher temperatures, especially in the lowland areas and occasional light-to-moderate precipitation and higher wind speeds," Georg Muller, a meteorologist at LSEG, said in a note.
"A major wet and windy spell is not likely before November 20 at least."
* The Nordic power price for next-day physical delivery FXSYSAL=NPX, or system price, fell 8.96 euros, or 24.09%, to 28.24 euros per megawatt hour (MWh).
