BEIJING, Aug 26 (Reuters) -China's Yunnan Tin 000960.SZ, the world's largest refined tin producer, has begun maintenance of its smelting equipment from Aug. 25, the company said.

"The maintenance is expected to last up to 45 days and it will have no big impact on the company's annual production plan," the company said in a filing to the Shenzhen Stock Exchange dated Saturday.

Yunnan Tin was the world's biggest producer of the metal last year, accounting for 22% of the world's 370,100 metric tons of refined tin produced, data by the International Tin Association (ITA) showed.

The suspension of Yunnan Tin's operations comes amid increasing concerns about tightness in feedstock supply to China, with output from Myanmar remaining weak and set to decline further, analysts at the ITA said in note.

However, elevated inventory of refined tin in Shanghai Futures Exchange warehouses SN-STX-SGH will provide ample cushioning for the reduction in China's domestic production in September and the start of October, the ITA added.

The most-traded tin contract on the Shanghai Futures Exchange retreated 0.45% to 265,710 yuan ($37,321.44) a metric ton as of 0230 GMT, after hitting a more than one-month high at 271,130 yuan a ton earlier the session.

Shares of Yuunan Tin slipped 0.21% to 13.96 yuan.
