SAO PAULO, Oct 9 (Reuters) -Brazilian green coffee exports rose 33.8% in September compared to a year ago, as a new crop began reaching ports, industry group Cecafe said in a report onWednesday.

Farmers exported 4.11 million 60-kg bags of green coffee last month from Brazil, the world's largest coffee producer and exporter.

Exports of arabica coffee increased nearly 32% year-on-year to 3.19 million bags, while shipments of robusta - a variety commonly used by the industry to make instant coffee and blends - surged about 41% last month to some 912,000 bags.

September's figure was boosted by stockpiles held over from the previous season, Cecafe said.

The increase in the exports come despite persistent logistics bottlenecks coffee exporters have been reporting.

Cecafe head Marcio Ferreira said in the report that the logistics issues have increased in the second half of this year due to a lack of space in local ports amid higher container demand for coffee, sugar and cotton.
