Aug 21 (Reuters) -Asia's gasoline margins rose for a third consecutive session on Wednesday, supported by lower exports from China and firm import demand from Australia and Japan.

The crack rose to $5.95 per barrel above Brent crude, from $5.62 on Tuesday.

Chinese gasoline exports dropped in July while Japan's imports are set to stay elevated for a second month in August due to plant outages.

"China exports are not expected to be strong and Japan runs are low, so really Korea is the main supplier in Asia at the moment," Energy Aspects analyst Alex Yap said.

"I don’t see much downside given naphtha continues to look strong which gives a floor on gasoline cracks."

In the naphtha market, the margins rose $5.97 to $91.88 a metric ton above Brent crude, the highest since Aug. 6. The backwardation between the first-half October and the first-half November widened by $2 to $4.50 a ton.
