US Cash Grains-Corn, soy bids mostly steady to higher
CHICAGO, July 2 (Reuters) -Spot basis bids for corn and soy were mostly steady to higher on Tuesday, as dealers sought to encourage sales from farmers.
* U.S. farmers have held a larger-than-normal portion of corn and soybean stocks this marketing year due to low prices.
* The corn basis increased by 10 cents per bushel at an elevator in Blair, Nebraska, and the soy basis increased by 5 cents at an elevator in Des Moines, Iowa.
* The corn basis was down 5 cents at a rail terminal in Columbus, Ohio.
* More grain dealers rolled their corn basis bids to the CBOT September CU24 futures contract and the soy basis bids to CBOT August SQ24 futures.
* CBOT September corn CU24 settled up 1 cent at$4.08 per bushel. CBOT August soybeans SQ24 were up 4-1/4 cents at $11.50-1/4 a bushel.
